A while ago me and some friends started a Star Wars DnD campaign set in the early years of the Rebellion Era.
Ippo was a jedi student at the temple who was rescued by an elder jedi along with a bunch of other kids shortly before the rest were massacred, then escaped together to the planet of Nar Shaddaa . Neither Ippo, nor any of the other survivors are jedi, as the elder made a point to establish a familial bond between them and to teach them to look at both the sith and jedi critically. He trained them in the Force and in combat but told them that what they did with that knowledge was up to them. Thus, Ippo is an antisocial mercenary who's left Nar Shaddaa to look for well-paying work in order to send money back home to his family - the old master and the other kids. He generally dislikes people outside his family, as well as most animals, and feels better among droids and technology.
If we're using DnD alignments, I'd say he's around chaotic good or something. Also I know there's a bunch of "non-canonical" stuff in his backstory but Star Wars canon is bullshit anyway.
